If you’re serious about wilderness camping you’ll need the right clothing; it simply doesn’t work to wear shorts and flip flops into the woods. Most important for wilderness camping is a great pair of boots. They should be strong, give good support, and made from leather. Also, make sure you’ve used them before heading into the woods so your feet don’t blister.
Good socks are important and you should pick your material based on the expected temperatures. Having sweaty or frozen feet is no good. If you’re going anywhere it might rain you’ll need a good poncho or raincoat. You don’t want to get soaked as that’s a good way to feel miserable and your clothes will likely not dry. A hat is a good idea to protect your skin from the sun. You can pick the pants or shorts of your choice depending on comfort.
